“Melissa grew up in a small Cape Breton town, where her Métis roots deepened her bond with nature and animals. Creative from a young age, she found refuge in art and dance—passions that led her to her first TV role at 18 and opened the door to a 17-year career as a stuntwoman and actress.

Now dividing her time between Hawaii, Mexico, and Nova Scotia, Melissa channels her connection to nature through freediving and floral photography. Her work captures the balance between strength and fragility, inspired by the ocean’s silence and the fleeting beauty of flowers.

Rooted in both physicality and sensitivity, her art explores the tension between control and surrender, stillness and motion—revealing the quiet power within petals, waves, and the human spirit.”

“My floral photography is an exploration of quiet beauty and the inner strength that lives within delicate things. Moving between Hawai‘i, Mexico, and Nova Scotia, I’m drawn to rare blooms that thrive in unexpected places. Through soft natural shadow creating evoking tenebrism shots, I try to reveal each blooms subtle mood — the tenderness, resilience, and quiet stories they carry.

My work as a stunt woman and actress taught me to step into vulnerability with courage. I wanted to learn how to be unshakable in both my softness and my strength, and flowers became my greatest teachers. They reminded me that openness is not weakness, and that the most fragile things often hold the deepest power.

Each portrait is a small meditation — an invitation to slow down, look closely, and feel the quiet magic that blooms when we allow strength and vulnerability to exist together. Through my work, I hope to offer a moment of calm presence and a reminder that beauty is often both fierce and gentle at the same time.”
